Hello there!
Yesterday I finally got around to building my Phaser kit and I encountered a weird behavior that I haven’t seen anyone else face yet.
Here are some pictures and a video demo of the problem.
Please disregard the wrong-way-around “Deep” pot as it’s placed like that just for testing purposes. My intention is to substitute it with a fixed resistor. It works just fine.
Also, R15 is on the other side of the PCB, connected to a switch for the Script mod. Also works fine.
The wire coming out of that top resistor R25 is for a mod to have the LED blink with the Speed knob. This doesn`t work yet, but I think the issue might be related to the big problem.
Here’s the deal: my Phaser only “phases” once.
When the pedal is off, clean signal. Great.
When I switch the pedal on, I can hear how it does its characteristic sweep, but only once, as you can hear in the video, and then it just “stays there” almost like a treble boost.
The Speed knob works great also, and I’ve tweaked the trimpot a lot to get it to produce any effect.
I’ve measured everything as per Musikdings’ documentation https://www.musikding.de/docs/musikding…haserValues.pdf
and all my values are correct EXCEPT the measurements where it says it should oscillate, it just doesn’t. Values stay fixed.
For example, IC1 pins 5, 6, 7 read constant 2.45 approx.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you in advance.
Guillermo
