Yes, but it is not the same PCB...

Hello, I have a problem with the range.
I have the V2 PCB. There's no wiring diagram for this one. Even if the circuit is very simple I have some doubts. Some months ago I worked on this project, but I couldn't make it work.
Now I decided to start working again on it, and I'm not sure what is going wrong.
Here's an image of my current wiring: https://ibb.co/HzmMSZL
With this, I get a constant interference noise as output. If I play the guitar I can hear it, but very low. Some things:
1) the transistor is working fine, I have tried it in another rangemaster I have.
2) I suppose the GND and +9v are the input from the power supply. I have attached a battery clip for this. I believe the AC125 transistor that came with the kit is a PNP transistor, so ground shouldn't be positive? In this case the marks shouldn't be -9 and GND? I have wired the batter clip in both orders, but I get the same result.
3) I broke the original 10KA potentiometer and replaced it with one marked 10A 10K .. is this the same value?
4) Maybe the first time I wired it I blowed the diode because reverse polarity? Can I replace the original (1N4007) with other similar?
5) I did a basic wiring for the input/output jacks, but this shouldn't be the problem as I have done several effects before and I always start with this layout... still, maybe I did something wrong here?
I have no clue how to continue with this, I appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance
