    Hi all,

I just finished assembling a G3 blues, which is the fourth tube amp I build. I measured voltages and they are way wrong :(.

    mains: 223
    V3-4/5: 6,55
    BR1: 206
    lug 21(A): 261

    and there starts the problems:
    Lug 18 top (B): 260
    lug 18 bottom: 258
all the following measurements at the tube plug sockets return 0 or close to 0 vdc.

I tripple checked the layout, soldering work is fine and all components were tested.

Any ideas of what could be wrong????

Thanks a lot for your time!!!

    EDIT

I applied the old advice: leave the amp, have a walk and come back 1/2 hour later. It worked for me as I forgot a few wires. Some continuity checks also showed that some wires on the underside of the board got desoldered (or so I guess) when wiring the front side. I added some new wires there and there you go, the amp sounds wonderfully!

It crunches readily which was a nice surprise as another post was mentionning the lack of distortion. On my Strat with single coils (CS 57/62), it crunches before 12 on either the volume or gain and goes into distortion at full volume (more so than at full gain).

I still have to learn the amp but I am more than happy (and this is with a modest 8" speaker). Sounds great, very neat and compact package; I would warmly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm souding home tube amp. The only concern is that one need to pay good attention to the building process as they are many flying components and wires and one could easily be missed (as I did...).

    Cheers!
