Also ich hab heute die Bauteile bekommen. Hatte vergangene Woche ein Layout für den Octane entworfen - mein erstes Layout überhaupt übrigens - das aber Uwe bereits abgesegnet hat. Vielen vielen Dank noch mal dafür Uwe. Ich hoffe, ich komme jetzt am Wochenende dazu, das Teil zu bauen. Würde euch dann über den Stand der Dinge auf dem Laufenden halten.

Der Eingangskondensator beim ZV WM ist ein Multilayer-Keramiktyp, die Elkos sind von Xicon und die Potis von Vishay.

Die BS170P in ZV's Teilen kommen von National Semic.
Die Drähte sind mit Teflon beschichtet, dass hat aber keinen Einfluss auf den Sound.

Im "total überteuerten" Liebespedal ist ein JRC4559 drin, der gibt aber noch einen anderen IC dabei. Ein NS LM353N ist auch eine sehr gute Wahl für den IC und mein pers. Favorit.

Also der Tone control im WM kommt mir ein bißchen suspekt vor. Erstens die krummen werte, und zweitens würde der 6k Widerstand auf Masse gehen, dann wäre es ein Bigmuff tone-control, welcher mehr zum ZV passen würde.

Vielleicht kann das wer überprüfen...

Die Werte an sich überzeugen mich allerdings auch nicht. Bei Linksanschlag müsste die obere Grenzfrequenz irgendwo bei 10kHz liegen, das passt irgendwie nicht. Und auch Größe und Position von diesem 100µ-Elko sehen seltsam aus.

That WM schem looks correct comparing with my original. the only problem is that both transistors are 2N3904.

@blackman: Yes, please do. That would definitely help to clarify some of the odd spots im the schem. And if possible, it'd be great if you could verify the values of the parts, especially in the tone stack.

@all: Ich hab grad mal etwas rumsimuliert und das Ding ist echt seltsam. Der EQ ist recht wenig effektiv und der Wool-Knopf bringt es weniger als Gainkontrolle denn als zusätzlicher Equalizer, vor allem in Kombination mit Pinch. Zumindest wenn man die Simulation zugrunde legt, wäre es wohl auch sinnvoller, den 100k vor dem Pinchpoti wegzulassen um noch einen halbwegs natürlichen Sound aus dem Ding rauszuholen. Das gibt dann einen schicken Trebleboost (soviel zu Bassfuzz). ;D

On the WM - I built the tone section as drawn and didnt like it (for Bass or Guitar). I took the standard BMP tone control and changed the two caps on the treble and bass side. After trying various combinations I used the Swollen Pickle values with 33k resistors - our bassist preferred the values from the Whisker Biscuit at ROG.

I was thinking about using a SWT in there ... hmmmm ...

I traced that schem for the Wooly Mammoth, and the error (which I later caught) was the 7.4n cap in the tone control should be 74n. It doesn't really work like a Big Muff Tone control, it just cuts the treble.

I meant I used the BMP TC instead of the one drawn, sorry if I confused.

I used a 68n cap in the original WM build, but the range was wierd. The BMP was better for guitar. I also tried replacing the lower 33k resistor with a 2k2 resistor and a 22k pot as a basic Mids control.
