Hi there,
I have a problem with my a15mk1 effect loop.
I used my intellifex LTD with the effect loop.
I put send of the a15mk1 into intellifex input and return of a15mk1 into intellifex output but very low volume and poor sound comes out from my speaker...
in order to hear a very low sound (like a mosquito) I had to turn to the max the input and the output pot of the intellifex and use +4 db level...
I tried also to use a stomp box (equalizer) in the loop but I cannot hear no sound. It seems like the send signal of my A15MK1 is very very very very low...
I checked then the wiring on the A15Mk1 but all seems correct at first check...
Can someone of you suggest me some test I can made on my amplifier in order to isolate and solve this problem?( i mean some tests with multimeter and so on)...Is it possible that the one of the triode V3 (where I get the send signal via shielded cable that goes to SEND jack) doesn't work properly because of a faulty tube and so does not amplify the signal?
Thanks a lot if u can help me with practical hints (possible not just suggest me to try to substitute or swap the tube!
)
Thanks a lot.
Krusty!

Re: a15mk1 fx loop
Hi Krusty,
if the stage before the Send/Return would be faulty, you won't have full power of the amp itself. If the amp (w/o using the Send/Return) is working fine, I assume you haven't wired the Send/Return jacks correctly.

Re: a15mk1 fx loop
Hi Mad,
and thanks for your answer...
well if I use the return jack in order to use just the power amp of the a15mk1 it works fine...
and even from the send jack some signal comes out...but it's very low...it cannot drive my intellifex nor any other stomp box...
any practical test to be done?
I tryied to plug for example a cd player output headphone jack into return jack and I hear the music from the a15mk1 (so return seems to work properly but the pot on the amp are alla bypassed when using return jack noone changes anything (volume too)) is it correct?
Thanks a lot if you can suggest me some other test!

Re: a15mk1 fx loop
Hi krusty,
yes, the return is after all volume pots in the circuit, so that's OK. But when the amp is loud enough w/o using the Send/Return, all amplifier stages must be OK and the signal at the Send must be strong enough. Can you post a picture of your wiring of the send/return?

Re: a15mk1 fx loop
Thanks Martin for your answer...
here's a pic of the wiring of my send/return...
hope it helps to solve my mistakes
Thanks again.Krusty

Re: a15mk1 fx loop
Hi,
seems that 33 people looked at your picture until now - and didn't say anything.

My personal opinion: The resolution of the photo isn't well suited to recognize wiring errors - especially around the tube sockets.Bernd

Re: a15mk1 fx loop
Ooops, I didn't recognize, you're waiting for me to check the picture ::)
Bernd is right, can you post a picture with more details?

Re: a15mk1 fx loop
Has someone checked out my picture and can help me to debug my problem?
now the pic should be clearer!
Martin?
Thanks a lot.

Re: a15mk1 fx loop
Hi Krusty,
sorry for the late response but I had very little time fro the last two weeks. My first guess was right, you've wired the send/return not correctly. When you compare your picture with the layout plan, you'll see, that you've used the wrong solder lug at the send outlet. The white wire and the capacitor needs to be connected to the upper one, not the lower one. So please correct it and it will work as it should

Re: a15mk1 fx loop
Thanks Martin..that was the point...
now send - return loop works perfectly!
