A15 Mk1 mod for NonHighGainers

  • Yes I know A15 Mk1 is intended to be an amp with highgainfeatures, BUT,
1 I like clean Fender sound = Brownface
    2 I like bluescrunch
3 1 dont like highgain, to lifeless to my opinion.

Its OK if you disagree, this is just a suggestion.

This is a mod to get an A15 Mk1 as a Fenderstyle cleanamp and with crunchy channel 2 with volumeincreased solo capabilities = ++

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A15 Mk1 mods for ”NonHighGain” guitarists

In ++ position, R 18 before gainpot was increased to 1,1 M ,split in 680K with new C11 1nF (decresade to make it less trebelish) in parallell over the 680K resistor connected to ground and a serial 470K. This results in less gain on ++ and less treble.
R 25 reduced to 56K and R26 increased to 56K results in a + position more cruchy/bluesy and ++ position now with proper volumeincrease for solos and less distortion than originally.

R33 reduced to 110 K for totally lower gain on channel 2

Cutting C14 out (V2 8) made channel 2 to ”lame” and lifeless, took the edge away, so I continue to use C14.

    R18 680K increased to 1,1M (680K + 470K)
    C11 2,2nF reduced to 1nF
    R25 68K reduced to 56K
    R26 33K increased to 56K
    R33 220K reduced to 110K

Please get back if you like this mod or dislike it!!!!!!!
