I have assembled another A15Mk1 for a friend of mine.. but I have a problem...
with the Smooth switch in neutral position the amp makes a high frequency noise.. like a "weeeeeeeeeeeeee...." with the smooth switch in "+" and "++" position the high frequency disapears and "run" normal..
Any sugestions?

Re: A15Mk1 Smooth Switch problem...
Switch the wires from the Anodes on the primary of the OT and your "weee" will be away

Re: A15Mk1 Smooth Switch problem...
Oh yes!! it works!! but.. I have now another problem... whem the smooth switch is in central position everything is OK.. but when I put him in "+" or "++" my smooth resistors burn!! :o
For now I have removed the Smooth switch.. the amp is OK..
I've make the 8/4 Omhs option.. so.. now with the anodes wires switched (in the original position like the layout) I have positive or negative feedback? (sorry if i'm telling "noob" things..! but i'm a newbie!) -
Re: A15Mk1 Smooth Switch problem...
The amp works normally with a negative feedback...if youre having this "weeee" you´ll have a positive feedback which is no good

I also did the 4/8Ohm thing and also had this problem....
Are you sure you have wired the smooth correct? And also your voltages are fine?

Re: A15Mk1 Smooth Switch problem...
well it seems that I have everything correct but i'm gonna check another time..
the funny thing off this all is .. in my double A15Mk1 everything have been easy and with no problems.. my double A15Mk1 work at the first time!! (A LOT MORE COMPLEX PROJECT!) and with this one have some bugs.. (made by me, i know!! ::)).. but we learn with the mistakes..
EDIT: yes my voltages are correct 292v goes to smooth switch

Re: A15Mk1 Smooth Switch problem...
I´m interested in this...could you take a foto of the "burned" switch?
Are you sure you didn´t short something somewhere?

Re: A15Mk1 Smooth Switch problem...
I didn't fix the problem.. I simply heve removed the smooth switch.. (my friend don´t use it).. the amp is OK...
