Re: Cold fusion overdrive
"from time to time" ... geil
;DSorry, blues .... I think getting a schem of the Cold Fusion might be as hard as getting a schem of Z.Vex Nanohead. Maybe it might be harder

But there are some other nice ODs around the sound also very good.

Re: Cold fusion overdrive
Hello Blues,
some Time ago i read somwhere in the www (sorry, i cant remember exactly where), that the Banzai
Overdrive is a modded Tubescreamer. For playing Blues i suggest the TS (modded to Your taste) or that BlueMagic...
If You like to mess around with circuits, try to connect two LPB2 Circuits in Series - with modding some Tonespecs and optimizing the circuits for accurate Boost, you get a real naturally working Overdrive !
You can also combine an Overdrive with a Booster...
have Fun !!
bye

some Time ago i read somwhere in the www (sorry, i cant remember exactly where), that the Banzai
Overdrive is a modded Tubescreamer. You probably mean the Banzai Fireball, don't you?
But the question was about the Cold Fusion. Any news what this effect is based on? -

Re: Cold fusion overdrive
Hi Blues,
that schematic looks not bad - the SoundSample is good too, but You dont know exactly, how it is recorded (Amp, Guitar and its Settings)
That Schematic looks for me like a combination between that classical Overdrive (TubeScreamer) and
Hardclippingdistortion Diodes (if im right). The Sound reminds me of my ColdFirePro = thats a TubeScreamer that could be switched to HardClipping.
http://diy.musikding.de/content/view/2/8/
Its not exactly the same, but the Sound comes
near to that samples from the CloneZsooooo, back to that Banzai ColdFusion (in my eyes it could be a modded Tubescreamer) and the Fireball could be a Fulldrive2.
But if you want to know it exactly - you have to open and reverse engineer it
My suggestion:
build a Tubescreamer, mod it to Your taste
and try other easy to build Circuits like the BlueMagic and so on (You dont have to build them completely with enclosure and so on) to test the Circuit and decide, if its good enough to put it in an enclosure with Footswitch and LED, you can build it and use it without Luxury ;DMy first Tubescreamer i was disappointed with, because the Sound was to smooth for me.
So i played with some Resistors and Caps and made it my favorite Pedal.OK
Now go and build a Pedal

bye

Re: Cold fusion overdrive
Hi Oliver,
Thank you for your suggestions and link. Nice project and sound samples.
I will try build one and modify according to my ear taste.
I prefer soft (smooth) sound similar to Tone Burner type.
Last my option : back to Cold Fusion as you said. Thanks again for your reply.
Best regards
