No guitar sound on Das Tremolo/kein Gitarrensound bei Das Tremolo

  • Hi,

I’m building a Das Tremolo kit, finished the build and am testing it. I hear guitar on bypass but not with the effect inline. The led pulses and I can hear the pots making changes to low level noise on the amp side, but no guitar sound. Can anyone advise me please?

    Thanks,

    Robin

    Hallo,

    Danke,

    Robin

  • Hi Robin,

Welcome to the forum. I could advise you, if you provided a link to the schematic as well as detailed photos of your build. My crystal ball is currently in repair ;)

Please provide the link and photos, we will get your pedal working in no time.

    Cheers,

  • Hello, simple question:

Was the trimpot open? R4 (minimum aperture possible)

Then, with your red Led, I noticed that in my case you have to reverse the polarity, otherwise I had no sound.

    Try that

Edit : i see you reverse good the polarity, so it's good. But try to reverse otherwhere.

On another quality blue led, normal polarity was needed for it to work, weird (in my case).

You can check the polarity of the Nsl32.

You are in the right direction.

But there is a white point (normally) which indicates the mass, and you have to solder it to the opposite of the + of the pcb (on its right)

  • Hi Nicolas,

I’ll check the trim pot - the kit doesn’t come with any notes regarding setting up the trim pot, and I haven’t touched it so far.

Thanks for taking the time to look over my pictures and comment. It doesn’t sound like there anything obvious wrong, but I’ll double check the things you mention. I think I need to put an audio probe on this to see where signal is lost. I haven’t done that before, so I need to do some reading to find out how.

  • Nicolas,

You were right, the issue was the trimpot, the circuit works correctly now that has been adjusted. The circuit is a little noisy, but I think that might clean up a little when I put it in the case.

    Thank you for your help.
