I have put together many kits from Musikding, but I am having no luck with the Brown Eye. No sound when effect is engaged, looks like there is not enough voltage going to the IC`s, I read only 0,2 What could be wrong?
(IC`s not inserted on image, have triple checked the orientation)
Edit: So I got some comments on lacking info. Well, as I said, the IC`s only measure 0,1 to 0,2 volts. Schematic attached. I needed to downscale the images to upload, so sorry for what seems to be shitty pics. Elec. caps are the right way, also the diodes. Double checked all values.
As I said, it seems like the IC`s are not getting enough voltage.
Offboard wiring works fine.
The Brown Eye not working

Unfortunately the community of this forum is not able to do fortune telling so:
- post circuit/ instruction of the pedal
- post Dom highres photos of the Pedal inside
- post standard measurement of ICs, transistors
- doublecheck right orientation and value of all your components
- doublecheck your on- and offboard wiring -
O.k,
What I see is: Terrible Solder Joints, shorts between Pot-Legs
What I didn´t see is: Link to shematics, good pictures,no Detail,no IC´s and I can´t see anything of your Troubleshooting, complete Measurements,Did you check all component Values and Directions?@smellslikebleach recommended you to do all this, and you only posted 3 Bad Pictures, you had to do more to getting helped and get your Pedal working !
Your Question like: " The Motor of my Car did not run, here are 3 Bad Pic´s of his Exhaust, could you fix it?"
No offense,but......
Best regards,
Micha -
Sorry...

O.k,Shematic on mini Picture didn´t help, here is the Link to work with:
https://www.musikding.de/docs/musikding…beod_schalt.pdf
So,you say,you couldn´t get Voltage on IC´s? All IC´s are Dual OP Amps like TL072,them get their Voltage on Pin8 (here VCC) and GND on Pin 4
and if all of them didn´t get enough Voltage, the Failure must be in the Power Supply Part of the Circuit,i marked it red in Picture below:Now wee need measurements (Voltage) before R19 and after it,it must me something about 8-9V After and 9V before.,if not pls. check all Component values in the Red marked Area there.
best regards,
MichaEdit: How did you wired the DC Jack, pls take some High res. Pic´s of the Wiring with details.
-
You should start by measuring R19. It has to be 10 ohms only.
-
Thank you all for the answers. Sorry if I come across as stupid, i have soldered a lot of kits from Musikding, but I don`t know much electronics theory.
DC is wired correctly, and measures 9v there.
I measure 9v at R19 (10k resistor) and at D1.
But before and after r19, I only measure around 0,02-0,05v.I hope this pic is a bit clearer than the 1st one I posted.
Again, thank you all for your help and patience. -
You should measure the resistance of R19. I am really bad at color codes, but I'll try to see what this says
-
The color code looks okay. Maybe just resolder R19.
-
Hi, i think the failure is,that you wired the 9v+ to the 3pdt PCB and then to the right pad on Mainboard 9v+. if you look at the traces on PCB,you see it goes to the wrong Side of R19 please try to solder the DC Jack directly on the two Lugs on the left Side of R19 !! ,the red Wire from pcb to 3pdt pcb still leave,it is for the LED,I think there must be an R for the LED on Mainboard or one on the 3pdt PCB,i think you solder both.
best regards,
Micha -
R19 is only 10 ohms. You won't be able to tell if soldered 9V to the correct or wrong side.

MichaThank you! But that didn`t solve it either. Still the same voltage reading on the multimeter and still no sound when effect is on.

Hi,
My misttake
,shot to fast without thinking, should be no matter if You use the left or right Lug.Did you measure R19 now? and did you resolder it if it is the right Vaue?
I measure 9v at R19 (10k resistor) and at D1.
But before and after r19, I only measure around 0,02-0,05v.What now? Did you measure 9V at R 19 or not? please resolder R19 and check Traces !
You could youse the shematic and your multimeter to check Traces, look at shematic and measure links from Component to Component (Measure on the Component´s Side!!!) ,if them are alle o.k,we continue....

What?? 10k resistor?? That's 1000 times too high resistance!
-
Spelling mistake?
Farbcode stimmt ja!
-
But using 10k instead of 10R will result in a low voltage if the actual consumer has low resistance.
-
Right, but when use the right 9V+ Connection for DC Jack R19 is not in use, even when 9V is connected on the left lugs !
perhaps there´s a short somethere in the Power Supply part?!
-
@Alfandrew What did you use as Isolation under the Pots? did you use the foam where IC´s are delivered with? if so,pls remove and try rubber, thick paper or else, the foam let Component legs throug
and them will be shortened on Pot casing. -
And also fix this pls:
