Wo hast Du denn einen Wert für Q1 gesehen
,bin davon ausgegangen das der richtig ist, bisher war immer nur die rede von Q2.
The Face Germanium - Fuzz kit : cant reach bias voltage under 6.6V with trimpot
-
-
Weiter vorne: “i have Q1VC=0.34V“
-
ist aber glaube noch im Rahmen, -0,4 bis -0,7V meine ich und Basis Q1 -0,2

Hi, Micha
thanksWhat resistance do you have from collektor to Minus of Battery?Did it change while turning Trimpot? Trimpot o.k??
Sorry, Resistance from collector of Q2 to minus battery vary with trimpod from 4,5k ohms to 10.5k ohmsWhile swicthing the battery on i got same voltage between battery + and feet 1, 2, and 3 from trimpo (8,8 V).
There must be something wrong [Blockierte Grafik: https://musikding.rocks/wcf/images/smilies/confused.png]
You can measure your Trimpot Resistance ! between Lug 1&2 turn it and look if Resistance change, and Lug 2&3 as same.
R between 1 and 2 vary from 0 to 8.5 k ohms
R between 2 and 3 vary from 0 to 10.7 k ohmsTrimpot´s very sensitive to Heat ! so maybe it is broken or you have a Bad solder Joint elswhere.
i struggled to desolder R5 which is very close to trimpot, maybe too much hot ?Same to germanium Transistors,to much heat, wrong voltage........Exitus.
dont know how to test. the pedal was ok just 6.6v bias. I only changed R5 (desoldering R5 ans volume and fuzz pots to have access), chechek my solders...very disapoitingThere is No Danger for your Amp or your Guitar, you can test but I think it will not work, but try.
True that does not work, when i switch it on it mute the sound -
Hi smellslikebleach
yes i try to have the -4.5V on Q2 (i had 6.6 before changing R5 from 1k to 4.7k)
Micha my Q1 bias was 0,34v before the change, it s now 0,28 V
i m lost, i begin to think that taking time do do things is not enough and i need electronics knowledge
-
Could you please post some highres pictures of your pedal pcb (front and back).
-
O.k Trimpot seems to be o.k.
Could you please make good pictures of your PCB, Upside and downside, and a good picture uf your Transistors so i can see the direction? also pls Pictures of Wiring.
For beginning build pedals,I regard to start with something easier like a Booster or else.
an Germanium Fuzz Pedal ist not as easy as it looks like to build.
best regards,
Micha -
@smellslikebleach Da Du nun mal wieder schneller warst, ist jetzt ja wohl der Kasten fällig

Guten tag boths und vielen dank fur die hilfe! (the disapointing things is that it quite worked on 1st try (6.6v) and i only made a small change and took care
)- i can easily take a picture of the upside of pcb, wiring
- to take the downside i have to desoldier it from the other parts (volume, fuzz pots etc). because the dowside if facing the enclosure. Do i do that?
-
Don´t you could demount hardware like Pot´s and Jacks easilier,so you only had to desolder the DC Jack?
if you won´t,take first a Picture from the Upside.
the disapointing things is that it quite worked on 1st try (6.6v) and i only made a small change and took care
Sound´s to me like there must be something wrong with your Change, maybe to much Heat, wrong part,Bad solder Joint, what if Undo changes?
-
i m a little stupid, did not think about unscrew the pots ...i do it and take the pictures (in few hours, i have to wait to get the keys..)
ps i did even measure the new r5 so new part seems good (4,67 k ohms) -
I would speculate it’s a wrong positioned resistor or a bad soldering point.

-
-
what if Undo changes?
-
i dont manage to unscrew the pots (i use a product to avoid that

i will try better tomorrow, otherwise i will unsolder to take a picture of bottomside pcb
have a good evening (thanks) -
i use a product to avoid that
A product to avoid unscrewing? Kind of this?

-
-
I thought it was just a joke

Sorry, but this was a stupid idea, as long as you are a pro and know what you do.

-
-

it s very good for roller ski because you dont want the wheel to be to tight or to lose with vibration
aniway bad idea for pedal pots lol
have a good evening i will try again tomorrow -
