Suchen nach SHO looking for SHO

  • Im nach einem PCB für das Super Hard On ZVex stark suchend. Ich fand ein, das nicht arbeitete. Hat jemand ein überprüftes Arbeitslayout?

    Danke!

I dont speak Germin, this was translated with Google.

Im looking for a Super Hard On layout. I found one here before, but it didnt work. Has anyone got a verified SHO layout?

    Hello Blackcrowe,

don't bother and believe what ZV said, the SHO-schem on the linked site is a very old one but it has no errors and will work.

Uwe's link leads you to a newer one here on the forum, and it's correct too. The circuit of the SHO is a cookbook classic and no invention of ZV but to be fair he used it first in a stompbox.

The SHO isn't a static design, ZV made some changes over the years, mostly outputpot- and cap values and some other changes, but they all sound nearly identical.

I prefer the AMZ Mosfet Booster, because of the variable biasing for the FET and to me it's the better design with nearly identical sound compared to the SHO.

If you decide to build the SHO you should add the variable BIAS-circuit to the SHO-circuit for finetuning the FET's action. Without the possibility of biasing the FET you are in need to swap some BS170 in and out, due to manufactoring tolerances, until you find one that matches the circuit specs. perfect (for a smooth breakup or distortion).

For layouts look at Del Pedro's reply.

If you are in doubt or have other questions don't hesitate to ask.

    Jürgen

    Hi Blackcrowe,

well I didn't build analogguru's SHOe on PCB, but SledgeHammer made a vero-layout from analogs layout which I built and which works flawlessly -> I'm quite sure the PCB version works as well...
Here's the thread for the vero-layout:

So probably your offboard-wiring might be the problem.
