hi guys , again i dont know if im posting this in the correct part of the forum , but i really need help. ive tried reading other peoples questions in the forum but when you translate some threads from german to english its very hard to understand as the grammar is a direct translation and isnt always the same in all languages , anyway heregoes.
about 6 months ago i purchasd the das 69er , which i might add is a really fine pedal , when it works . see this is my problem sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt . originally i got a standard size enclosure , which was quiet tight in side to get all the components in but in the beginning the pedal worked fine . after a couple of weeks it started to intermitently decide for itself if it was or was not going to come on , not good for live stuff if it doesnt switch on when you need it too . so while it was in the small enclosure i decided to open it up and run the power from the battery and have a poke around inside to see if it was some loose wiring or maybe a bad solder joint or something , when i moved some parts around it would come on and off while i was moving things around . so last week i was ordering some parts and decided that maybe it was just a little cramped inside , so i ordered the bb size enclosure . while i was waiting on the bb to arrive i disassembled the 69er and cleaned up all the joints , so basically i had an almost new kit to begin with again . after drilling and painting the new bb , i went for the build again , and with the bb there is plenty of room to make good connections . but after the job was done , the problem still persisted
here is what is happening
1 . if it decides to come on , it operates as normal . but only from a 9v battery and not from the mains
2. when it doesnt come on , the led will light up obviously to let me know i have turned on the pedal , but doesnt operate as normal , instead of boosting the signal , it will suck all the tone out of the guitar signal and makes the signal even quiter than the original dry signal
can any body point me in the right direction as to what to do next , could it be the footswitch , or maybe the germanium transistors that are causing the problems , although i dont think so because if those where faulty they wouldnt work at all , or would they ?
ive gone over my wiring and solder joints a thousand times and ive went through the whole circuit with a DMM and still cant find the problem.
if any one has any idea it would be very much appreciated . ?????????
apologies if im posting this in the wrong spot .
