A15 Mk2 mod for cleaner sound

Hello all
I've got an 15 I made last year.
Great amp.
Was wondering whether I could modify it to make channel 1 cleaner.
I've started playing an electro-acoustic and while the sound is not bad, I think it could be cleaner.
Is there a straightforward way of doing this?

Hello Robert,

first of all:
Do you play that amp "hard", with much volume? So it's going to be difficult due to this amp starts to crunch reaching his maximum level.

If you don't take it to the limit anyway you can try to replace V1 with an ECC82/12AU7 (simply change without any modifications to the amp) so the preamp has some less gain and the amp should get cleaner - but you'll also lose a bit of volume...

Or: Decreasing R3 (to e.g. 100k or even less, 82k) should have a similar effect.
