A15MK2 footswitch dudes

  • Hola,

I'm wiring the footswitch from Madamp in my A15mk2 and there are some odd things:
The input voltage at the footswitch PS is rated "12-21 VAC" in the manual but the actual voltage is near 24 V in my amp.
Moreover, the values of the capacitors C1,C3 and C5 that comes with the kit are not the same as the ones listed on the bill of materials:
    C1 is listed 35V and supplied 16V
    C3 " " 25V " " 16V
    C5 " " 63V " " 35V

So I don't dare to connect the power supply board under these conditions.
Is there something wrong with the kit supplied?
Can I go on with the assembly?

Thank you for the soon response

    Guillermo

  • Hola Guillermo,

24 V is what to be expected and so its OK.

16 V rating for C3 is OK, because voltage at that point is already regulated down to 12 V.

But C1 and C5 should be rated at 35 V.

It would be better to write the complaint in an email to the musikding shop because I don't know if Klaus is reading regulary the forum.

  • Hola Bernd

I think that will be better to purchase the right capacitor.

By the way, I would like to reduce a little the gain of the booster. Can it be done without replace R25? Do you think it's possible to install a variable resistor to adjust this gain?

Nice to see that you are allways there.

    Thank you very much

  • Hola

what do you mean by "gain of the booster"? Is it the "++" position?

If yes, the simplest thing you can do is to swap R26 (33k) and R25 (68k). That would result in a slight reduction in the "++" position.
If that is not sufficient, you have to use other values for both. In sum they should add to 100k (+/- 10%).

  • Hola´

Yes, I mean the "++" position.
The problem is that R25 is under the board and cannot be removed easily.
    Could I add a 68K resistor in paralel to R25 and change R26 for a 68K resistor?
