• After completion of my A15MK2 (sounds great!!) I'm thinking of a new challenge:
A four channel stereo amp in which can be switched between the channels:
    Clean - English
    Clean - American
    HiGain - English
    HiGain - American
and then via effect send - stereo return to two poweramp stages. For that i would like to use the A15 poweramp.
If I buy a A15 and a M15, how much changes do i have to make to the M15 to make the poweramp equally sounding to the A15? If the work is to much I'd rather buy only the scheme and order the parts seperatly but if it only means changing the power tubes it can save me a lot of effort.

  • Hi Edwin,

a short comparision of the two amps:

PI: Same circuit and tube (ECC83) but different values of resistors and two caps.

    Power Stage:
M15: EL84 PP auto (cathode) bias
    A15: 6V6 PP fixed bias

As far as I remember PT and OT are the same in both amps.

  • I do this, with the mads! I have both amps. The signal is split with a switch: AmpA or AmpB or Both or Off! After the Mads the Signals goes to a 4x12" Marshall, switched as a 2x2x12" StereoBox.
If you play both Amps at the same time, it´s nessasary to change the phase of the signal für one Amp! I make this in front of the M15 and also get more gain. I use the Alembic stratoblaster booster.
It´s also very interesting to play the A15 clean and the M15 drived! So much nice effekt!

    Nice evening, Hatti
