A15MkI pedal mod in trouble with pedal leds

  • Hi everybody, I have a problem with the leds on the musikding pedal used with the mod.

I made the switch mod and use the musikding double switch pedal.

To get the pedal working, I had to invert the led connection into the pedal (according to the instruction scheme), but now that the pedal switches correctly between the channels and lets you choose the boost, the leds on the pedal don't work at all (while the ones on the front panel do).

    What could it be?

    Did someone have similar issues?

PS on my panel the leds work correctly (with or without the pedal switch).

    Thanks
    Mauro

    Yes Martin I did so

    I think it's right

Can you please check the image below?

    Thanks

    Up the thread!

Nobody really can check the image?

  • Hi,

why didn't you take the picture from the other side so we could really see what has to be checked...

But I think, you did it wrong: The LED and the switch has to be in series and not in parallel as I guess by your picture...

    Thanks Bernd,
I solved rewiring the pedal leds in series, but referring to the schematics (Manual FS1Mk1 Rev101.pdf last page) I had to invert the polarity of the leds to make them work.

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Mauro,
hmm that's amazing. Are you sure, the polarity in the schematic is the wrong way round? I've double checked it when I've drawn it and for all others it seems to work ;)
    Regards,
    Martin

Hi MAD, maybe I'm making confusion :)
I've re-checked everything and according to the following schematic I had to invert the polarity of the leds (until Anode = longest_led_terminal = basis_of_triangle_on_the_led_symbol).

Where could I have missed something other?

    Ciao

    Hi Mauro,
now you are confusing me :)
Is it working now or not?
Have you wired it according to the schematic or not?
    Regards,
    Martin

Yes now the pedal is working and the leds are correctly lighted :D (btw this ampli really rocks!!!!!!!!!!)
    BUT
No, I had to wire the led inverting the connections indicated in the schematics [i.e. central (top) tip of pedal jack to cathode of led1 and to switch (and so on) and idem for the led2]

Thus I probably did something wrong in the rest of the connections....

If you have suggestions on how to intimately debug the fact, tell me and I'll try!

    Thanks for your interest

    Mauro

P.S. Now I only have one issue with a generic (but sensible) hum on both channels that only lowers (please listen to the attached file) if I touch one of the nuts of the send/return jacks on the back of chassis with the tip of an unconnected jack cable, what do you think that it could be?
