I've started a G2, and finished the first part of it (I mean i've come to page 11...). I've tried to check the voltages, and from output transformer red vs ground, i find.... 590 VDC...!!!! I've checked everything, and everything else seems tou be right. If anybody anh help...

Hi André,
Zitat
i find.... 590 VDC...!!!!
I can't believe this :o
Can you get a second volt meter to check the voltage again.
Where did you connect the "black wire" of your meter for this measurement?
BTW:
What is the mains voltage (AC) in your country?
Bernd -
I don't think that the mains voltage is the problem. (Or is there a higher voltage than 240V anywhere?)
What voltage value (AC) do you measure between the power transformer leads (red - red)?

Stefan

Voltage problem
Hi'
I'm in france, so it is 220V... I connect black wire to the ground. I've just one meter, but it's new one, and not a cheap one. The three wires of the output transfo give the same value : 585 exactly...!

Voltage red to red
Red to red gives 182Vac

If you have 182VAC on the power transformer, it's impossible that you have such a voltage at the OT

Is your rectifier connected with ground?

 What do you call a rectifier ???? (as you can see i'm a real beginner !). I've followed the manuel, and the kit is now exactly as shown on page 11.
It seems really strange to me to get such a voltage, as i can't see where it could come from, but i can't understand where i'm wrong. The meter is the digital kind, so all i have to do is to read !!! -
The rectifier is BR1. Maybe you measure to ground, but your circuit is not grounded.
Can you post a picture? This would help a lot!

Voltage problem
I'll try to post a pic tomorrow (here in France is midnight now !).
Yes, the circuit is grounded : everything goes to the chassis, and the AC ground goes to the chassis too.
Here is the pic shown in the manual, and at this stage it looks exactly like that.
Thanks for your help. I'll go to bed now, and i'll be back tomorrow...
