Hi there,
I have a very good A15MK1 amp. But I have some trouble with it!
It sounds like it has a (virtual) presence control turned to maximum..no matter how I turn the eq pot (except if I remove totally high and mid, but the sound really sucks then).
With flat seeing (all the eq pot at 12 o'clock) the sound seems muddy (gain pot seems to have less or none control after 10 o'clock position going toward higher values) and without of bass full of high freq..very sharp and thin even if I use a 2x12 ADA splitstack Speaker with Celestion G12K-85 speakers at high volumes...(volume pot on ++ chan at 2 oclock, gain at 12 o'clock).
so with this setting... gain 12 o'clock, chan 2 ++, bass 12, mid 12, high 12, volume 2 o'clock) the sound is thin and seems full of high freq and lack of low end...with palm mute too!!!!
My guitar is a music man luke with EMG active pickups.
I think it should be a faulty component in the tone stack...maybe a faulty cap?
Any help, hint or practical test I can do to try to find it? (i've already tried to change and swap the pre amp tube but nothing has changed). hope someone can help me with practical hints..I'm not worried about de-soldering some components...
Using the smooth switch seems to change a bit the situation but the sound is very thin...
I have already checked and double checked my wiring (comparing to the schematic) but seems all fine.
Thanks a lot..
hope someone can help.
