I built the m15mk1 and a cabinet with 12" eminence texas heat. The sound is quite dark especially with some humbuckers and I'm using the original JJ tubes. Could I get more highs with maybe some other tubes?
(The cabinet is quite big and open back)

Hi,
the JJ tubes are known to be pretty smooth, so using other tubes (e.g. Sovtek) should change the sound. If you want more treble for the second channel, you can remove C5 and/or C9.

Hi
I got a brighter sound with a pair of Electro Harmonics tubes in the power stage and at the V1 position.

Should I try to change all tubes or just the el84's or ecc83's?

Just my 2cents...You will get a much bigger difference in sound changing the speaker than you ever will changing the tubes...

I fully agree!

What I noticed is the pickups effect - I had made a Firebird copy by a luthier and it sounds much darker than my Gibson Flying V which sounds actually perfect, very 70´s with the m15mk1. Don't know about the firebirds pickups, the luthier died two days after I got the guitar.
